Powerful food

For this Blog I want to talk about a "super food" from China.

Pearl Barley, Yi Yi Ren.

This food is thought of in Chinese Medicine to help prevent cancer, prevent arthritis and purge any excess fluid in the body.

It is a grain so you boil it with water until it is nice and soft, drain excess water, and eat.

It can be mixed with many different things from meats, veggies and even sweet condensed milk.

It also to me makes alot of sense especially when you think about how our societies diets have changed. The book is "the sugar fix" by Richard Johnson M.D. He has done extensive research into how our bodies respond poorly to having to high amount of sucrose, or corn syrup in our diet. The book also gives great ideas on sample diets, food list and label reading. It is a must have book for those who are trying to loose weight!
